Dear Members, a talk on DIABETES has been arranged for Tuesday 4th April at the clubhouse at 2.00p.m. Hopefully if there is a good response by members the Evangelismos Hospital will continue to provide speakers on selected health topics on a regular monthly basis.
The Evangelismos is also offering Health Checks to UKCA members, over the period of 24th to 28th April. The checks include blood pressure; E.C.G.; blood tests, and consultation with a doctor as per the Health Day held last year. The charge for the Health Check remains at €10
Any member interested should contact Neville via to contact page or direct with their following details, name, date of birth and telephone number and of course €10. The registration will be through the club, but the checks and consultations will be at the hospital. The details of members registered will be forwarded to the hospital and the hospital will contact the member to arrange suitable days and times for the appointments. The appointments will be within the period 24th to 28th April.

The Council will be grateful for any donations you may wish to make to the Open Day on 20th May, ‘The UKCA Charity Bonanza!’ Unwanted Christmas or anniversary gifts; bottles (full!); bric a brac; tinned or packaged foods; household items etc. Anything that you wish to donate may be handed in to the Door or Bar staff or Council members.
Dear Members, some of you will recall the successful Health Day held at the club by Evangelismos Hospital last year. The hospital has agreed to hold a Health Week for members from Monday 24th April until Saturday 29th April. This will give a range of days, dates and times for appointments and which will be at the hospital. The tests will remain the same as last year, laboratory, blood, urine; ecg and consultation with a doctor.

Doctors from the hospital will also be giving a series of talks on health matters. Those arranged at present are; Diabetes Tuesday 4th April; Prostate Problems Tuesday 2nd May. More details will follow, but the talks will be at the club on the dates given commencing at 2.00 p.m.

Dear Members, due to unforeseen circumstances there will be no Insider magazine for March. Additionally, the film show for Thursday 2nd March is cancelled. The Council apologises to members for any inconvenience caused by these unanticipated changes.
The AGM will be on Saturday 29th April 2017 at 10.30 a.m. The convening notice will be issued shortly.
This is a reminder that persons wishing to stand for election as either Chairman or member of Council must submit completed nomination forms not later that 25th March 2017. Nomination forms are available with the Door Staff and Secretary.
Also if any member wishes to submit a proposal for the consideration of Council, this must be received, appropriately worded and seconded, by the Secretary not later than 25th March.
The papers for the AGM will be available early in April, please ensure that the Membership Secretary has your correct (and valid) address. Every year we have documents returned by the postal authorities as undeliverable!
Tom has restarted the 'Back to Basics' Camera group. It will run fortnightly from 19th September - and the sessions start at 9:30 and usually run for 2 hours.
These sessions are for those wanting to understand/refresh their knowledge of photography basics. Those attending are required to bring their cameras. Samples of your work are welcome for discussion.
Topics covered so far include sensor size, exposure triangle, depth of field and composition.
Future topics will include filters, flash, white balance, hyperfocal distance, lens and viewpoints.
The format is interactive with a mixture of lecture and discussion. Participants are encouraged to engage with the presenter in order to properly explore concepts.
