The Computer and Camera Group - C&CG
The Computer and Camera Group is one of the largest and most active in the UKCA. It consists of two linked clubs who take turns to run lectures, field trips, practicals, competitions and more. Anyone who joins the Computer & Camera Group is welcome to attend any of the lectures and events whatever their level of interest and expertise and it is really friendly group. Cost per week is € 2 and tea, coffee, cake and biscuits are provided half way through the sessions
The Computer Club was the first part of the C&CG to be formed with a few enthusiasts meeting to share knowledge (& frustrations) in the early days of computing.
The Club brings people who are interested in computers together, it also welcomes newcomers to computers who want to improve their understanding and skills.
You don't have to bring a computer with you - most meetings are in the form of lectures covering a huge range of topics and activities sometimes aimed at absolute beginners or (less often) highly technical. They can range from browsing the internet safely and the various options for backing up, to making a calender for your family at Christmas (the club has a binding machine for members to use) and staying 'safe' on Facebook. The Monday 'Computers for Beginners' group is an offshoot of the C&CG, although it is run independently, and many members attend both.
The program for future talks is HERE
If you just have a 'little' camera - but would like to improve the shots you take with it - please come and join us.
If you're a mega-pixil DSLR toting semi-professional who'd like to share their skills and talk cameras with other enthusiasts - please come and join us.
If you've got into a rut with your photography and need a bit of 'push' to get back into it - please come and join us.
If you know nothing at all about photography but hope it's the hobby for you - please come and join us.
And if you've want to find out about editing images on your computer - then we can help there too.
The Camera Club is a great way to make new friends and gain new skills. We run lectures, practicals and competitions and organize very popular field trips both on the island and abroad - See what is happening this week HERE
