Backgammon is one of the oldest board games for two players. The playing pieces are moved according to the roll of dice, and a player wins by removing all of his pieces from the board before his opponent. Backgammon is a member of the tables family, one of the oldest classes of board games in the world.
The Backgammon Group of the UKCA is now playing the local style of Backgammon, 'Greek Tavli' and Chess.
Where people are interested other "Table-top War Games" as well as the above, can be introduced (all the above are loosely described as 'war games'). Players of any form of Backgammon are welcome to join us, and guidance can be given to any new players or people interested in playing Cypriot or Greek Tavli / Backgammon.
BACKGAMMON and CHESS evenings have started again on Wednesday evenings commencing at 7:30 p.m. and we would love you to join us.
