Another sad day with the loss of Joe Stone.
A great man, kind loving gentleman.
Rest in peace Joe.
During the Covid 19 lock-down here in Cyprus, interested members of the UKCA can attend a weekly meeting of the combined Computer Technology Group and Camera Club via the well known Zoom app. Current members of the group should have received an e-mail inviting them to participate, but any interested UKCA member is entitled to join in. Contact Derek, who is coordinating the meetings to be sent an invitation. Contact details can be found on the relevant Activity Group page. (The Zoom meetings are being held on Thursday mornings - NOT the normal Wednesdays to accommodate members who have other activities on Wednesdays during the lock-down.)
With only 3 members entering the quiz I have decided to give all entries a free Sunday lunch.
Well done all 3 of you .
The overall winner with a score of 41 was Shirley Levitt congratulations Shirley.

The query below has been received, if anyone has any information please contact Debbie (via contact page)
I am trying to trace my youngest brother Jonathan (Jon) Morley, who I believe is living in Cyprus with his wife Lynette (formerly from South Africa) and their children, Ben, Skye, Ethan and Annie (all of school age). Jon would have been 50 last month, 20th March, and we have been out of touch for some years now.
If anybody knows him or how to contact him could you please ask him to call his sister (same old number). I need to let him know our dad died 24th March. Appreciate he can't get back for funeral but I need to let him know about dad.
I have tried the embassy and expat newspapers but haven't had any luck getting any help in tracing him.
Really appreciate any help or advice you're able to give.
Hi members, this may not apply to you, but if you know of anyone who is not registered in Cyprus please pass it on. Please see below.
"Good Afternoon Debbie
I am contacting you further to Mike Groves’ recent email to you regarding the CRPG Help Line and the work we do. As we all know, we are living in unprecedented times which has scuppered some of the essential work we were/are planning to do to enable us to reach UK nationals who fall within the vulnerable category, for whatever reason – be they disabled, living remotely or unable to manage the immigration process for themselves. Our original plan was – and is - to engage the help of ‘Agents’ island wide who would be able to reach this group of people and help them with their residency applications.
As I am sure you aware, there is, in the region of, 70,000 UK nationals living in Cyprus with 45% - 31,000 to be precise which comprises some 5000+ vulnerable and at risk individuals - who do not have either an MEU1 or MEU3 and who we would like to reach. No mean feat!
Currently, without feet on the ground, we only have the online resources such as our website, Facebook and Twitter to try and get the message out there - however we are acutely aware that some/many within the vulnerable category will not have access to a PC therefore social media hence our reaching out to you. Would it be possible to enlist your help in reaching out to your members to help us seek out and offer help to those who need it please? It could be that some of your members may know of people who need our help – if they are able to flag them up to us then once the all clear siren has been sounded we can ensure they are contacted. Also, as our social media accounts are new and young, perhaps they could follow CRPG to help grow the online presence of both? The website with social media links is http://cyprus-crpg.org/
Any help you can provide to CRPG will be hugely and greatly appreciated.
In closing, I hope that you and yours are safe and well throughout this awful period in all our lives.

As I am sure you are all aware of the current situation regarding the corona virus and the Cyprus governments decision to restrict gatherings of people.
The club has been forced to close until the end of this lock-down period, which at present is 4 weeks from today, therefore any of the clubs within the club will not be able to carry on their usual activity until after this period ends. The welfare people have decided that they wish to continue and will be opened on the same usual days and times which are Tuesday and Thursday from 11,30 till 1.30
Should there be any changes to this then we will keep you informed.
The information posted on this blog is hopefully accurate but there is no guarantee - it's always best to check with the appropriate persons before making any commitments!
