Everyone is welcome to come and dance off some Christmas calories between 2 pm & 4 pm every Monday at the UKCA. Scottish Country Dancing is not 'highland dancing' there are no bagpipes or bouncing about over swords! S.C.D. is similar to barn dancing, although not necessarily as fast. All the dances are clearly taught and you don't need to come with a partner (unless you have one handy) - in this type of dancing everyone usually dances with everyone else in a 'set' rather than with just one partner.
All forms of dance are proven to have health benefits, both mental and physical but Scottish Country Dancing is one of the most accessible and fun forms of dance for every age and is especially enjoyed by many people who find other types of dancing challenging! This is a beginner's class and it is taken at a comfortable pace as appropriate to the participants. More information is HERE or check out the appropriate activity page from the links above.
The information posted on this blog is hopefully accurate but there is no guarantee - it's always best to check with the appropriate persons before making any commitments!
