Coffee/Tea & Biscuits 10.30am {15minutes} Tom will present and judge the images sent by our members for the 2nd Quarter Competition. “Monochrome” Monochrome photography is photography where each position on an image can record and show a different amount of light, but not a different hue. It includes all forms of black-and-white photography, which produce images containing tones of neutral grey ranging from black to white. Also, we will view a selection of images from the Prague Trip and an award will be made for best photographer, judged by David Hart Chairman Special note: 3rd Quarter Competition theme “WATER” Submission by 10th JULY

Field Trip to Kolossi Castle and 3 star Wreck at Akrotiri on 15th May
The route and plan by road have been e-mailed to members - please contact David at dchart@btopenworld.com if you have not received that information.Lunch will now be at "Chris Blue Beach" Restaurant at Kourion Beach area again, notify David if you wish to join in the . There will be a small token award for the best image taken on the field trip to celebrate the day and a small slideshow in about 3/4 weeks time. Please consider that the 2nd Quarterly competition entries are due after the field trip as land and seascapes is a category within the A.P.E.C. competition, so perhaps this is an ideal opportunity not to be missed. Be sure to remember to wear footwear suited for walking on the beach and take floor covering if you intend to take low down images of the castle or the wreck. Suggested additional equipment - tripod, ND filters, Polarizing Filter. |
Let's have fun with photography!We are all taking more and more pictures, an image is a way of communicating and influencing each other, a way of recording events, historic as well as personal and ultimately a medium of artistic expression. There are many ways and levels to which people wish to improve their skill at taking a picture, and this is dependent on how they wish to use their images but most of all, in our opinion, it should be fun.
