The next meeting of the new Computer Technology Group will be presented by  Derek Noronha.

Subject content - Android -
-  latest general news
- ways of using Android based Phones / Tablets etc. in secure manner taking into consideration the insecurities that plague this OS.
- Comparisons  with iPad/ iPhone alternatives that also have  similar weaknesses.
- Coverage of a couple of mainstream Apps'  that some  use/do not use as cost savers.

An overview covering an Android topic (Android Auto); this is a subject that has been requested a number of  times in the last year. It has become a  mainstay item that leaves many bewildered as to what is.

All UKCA members welcome, non-UKCA members welcome as guests but pay normal guest fee in addition to CTG €2 levy.

About the 'Computer Technology Group'

The 'Computer Club' was the first part of the former 'Computer and Camera Group' to be formed with a few enthusiasts meeting to share knowledge (& frustrations) in the early days of computing.

This Club brings people together who are interested in computers and other digital devices or peripherals, e.g. smart phones, printers, digital TV's etc; it also welcomes newcomers to the digital world who want to improve their understanding and skills.

You don't have to bring a computer with you - most meetings are in the form of lectures covering a huge range of topics and activities sometimes aimed at absolute beginners or (less often) highly technical. They can range from browsing the internet safely and the various options for backing up, to making a calendar for your family at Christmas (the club has a binding machine for members to use) staying 'safe' on Facebook or how to clean your keyboard.
